Dr. Walter Tubbs Hudson, 77, of Batesville, MS, passed away on Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Merit Health Center in Batesville, MS.

He was born in Batesville, MS on October 29, 1938 to Martha Louise Tubbs Hudson and Rodney Wilbur Hudson. He was a member of Batesville First Baptist Church, where served as a deacon. He also was a member of the Batesville Rotary Club and for approximately twenty years, he ministered to inmates at the Panola County Jail. He attended Mississippi State University and Auburn University, where he received his degree in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Hudson is survived by his wife, Norma Goforth Hudson of Batesville, MS; one daughter, Holly Hudson Roberson (Clint) and one son, Walter Heath Hudson (Teri), all of Batesville, MS; and four grandchildren, Walter Hays Hudson, Hunter Thomas Hudson, Reef Hudson Roberson and Ashley Savannah Roberson. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Martha Marcell Hudson.

Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Batesville First Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Magnolia Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Saturday, from 2-4 at the church.
