Condolences

Condolence From: Donnie Lay
Condolence: What a joy to know Jay! I have very fond memories of him helping this city girl at Jake & Dee's learn to shoot a rifle and ultimately be able to hit the target center and even remove mistletoe from trees!! He was such a genuine Southern gentleman, always revealing kindness, wonderful manners, and Christian ways. I enjoyed our visits and admired his good nature and positive attitude. It was a blessing to know him for over 35 years. His charming smile will always remain with us! Wrennie, my Mom and I extend our heartfelt sympathy and love to you and your family, our Sardis "cousins". May God comfort all of you as only He can.

Condolence: Always smiling, always engaging in conversations, always sharing the joy of the LORD!
Thank you Jay for many delightful chats over the years. I'd miss you if your smile wasn't ever present.
Mrs. West, I keep you all in my prayers and my praises of thanksgiving.
Love, Sonshine

Condolence: Wrennie: and to the rest of Jay's family that we did not know that well: It's with sad hearts that we realize Jay has left us, but with a happy heart that we know where he is and that there will one day be that 'happy reunion'...we have so many fond memories of all the 'West Bunch', that was brought about with Joe being an alderman when I was City Clerk. In later year, I was able to spend some time with Jay when he came to the library at Batesville...always a fun guy to be around and always ready to share a memory or two. We wish you God's love and peace during this time and the days to come, as they will in no doubt be hard ones. Just remember that we are never forsaken or left alone .. our Father is always near. God Bless.

Condolence: God looked around his garden and he found an empty place.
He then looked down upon this earth, and saw your tired face.
He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering
He knew you were in pain
He knew that you would never get well on earth again.
He saw that the roads were getting rough and the hills are hard to climb.
So he closed your weary eyelids and whispered "Peace be thine ".
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone
For part of us went with you that day God called you home.
