Obituary for Randolph Dover

Randolph  Dover
Mr. Randolph Dover, 55, of Sardis, MS, passed away on Monday, March 27, 2017 at Methodist Hospital in Olive Branch, MS.

Mr. Dover was born on February 23, 1962 in Marks, MS to The Late Barbara Criswell Dover and William Elmer Dover. Known as a compassionate, kind, and caring man, to know him was to love him. A member of Union Baptist Church, he was a devout Christian who lived his live through his faith and always left an impact on others. Sergeant First Class Dover proudly served his country for 30 years in the Mississippi Army National Guard with three active duty tours including one in Bosnia and two in Iraq, before his retirement.

He leaves behind his loving family, which includes his wife of 31 years, Vivian Scallorn Dover; two daughters, Jessica Dover Thomas (Dan) of Como, MS and Annadell Dover of Sardis; one son, Andrew Dover of Sardis; six sisters, Glenda Moore, Pat West, Mary Ann Willard, Vicky Bowles, Nita Gayle Hadley, all of Marks, MS, Kathy Dover of Batesville, MS, and Jean Webb of Crowder, MS; two brothers, Perry Dover of Senatobia, MS and Wesley Dover of Sardis, MS; and three grandchildren, Deacon, Dover, and Daysen Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 31, 2017 at 11am in Union Baptist Church. Interment will follow, with military honors, in Union Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home on Thursday, March 30, 2017 from 5:30pm-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Gideon's International, P.O. Box 97251, Washington, DC 20090-7251.
