Mr. Lonnie S. Daugherty, 79, of Horn Lake, MS, passed away on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Daugherty, retired shop manager for Jones Truck Line and Memphis Ford Tractor, was born on September 18, 1937 in Dublin, MS to The Late Ellie Downs and Lonnie S. Daugherty, Sr. He was a member of Oak Forest Church of God in Southaven, MS where he served for many years as head usher. He was an accomplished musician who loved not only his family, but also his church family, with all of his heart, second only to his Lord. He touched many lives and will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves behind his loving family which includes his wife of 57 years, Bettie Daugherty of Horn Lake; three daughters, Lisa Ashby (Kim) of Walls, MS, Decrecia Burk (Randy) of Lake Cormorant, MS, and Cheryl McElroy of Nesbit, MS; six grandchildren, Justin, Nathan, Ryan, Chelsea, Candice, and Zach; and four great-grandchildren, Azley, Wyatt, Kamryn, and Kynleigh. He was preceded in death by his parents, his five brothers, and four sisters.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 11am in Oak Forest Church of God in Southaven with a reception to follow.
