Mrs. Aline Taylor Wagner, 95, passed away, peacefully, at her her apartment at The Forum in The Woodlands, Texas on Tuesday, April 25, 2017.

Mrs. Wagner, a retired kindergarten teacher, was born in Como, MS on October 2, 1921 to The Late Mary Sherman Taylor and Tom Shelton Taylor. After attending Como High School, Mrs. Wagner graduated from The University of Mississippi where she was a member of Chi Omega sorority.

She married Robert Wagner of Ardmore, Pennsylvania on January 21, 1944, and with his overseas military service during World War II being the exception, they spent over 50 years of their married life in Como. Mrs. Wagner was a life-long member of Como United Methodist Church where she was faithful and dedicated as a member of the choir, Sunday school teacher, and Vacation Bible School Director. Her beautiful needlepoint can be seen adorning the center altar chair, kneelers, and in some of the banners that hang in the sanctuary, even today. She was the first Como librarian, a life member of the Como Garden Club, a member of the Study Club and the Como Civic Club. She served her community as the Secretary of Friendship Cemetery for 40 years.

Mrs. Wagner leaves behind her loving family which includes three daughters, Mary Sherman Willson of Houston, Texas, Sue Hearne of The Woodlands, Texas, and Anna Wargo of Charlotte, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wagner and her parents.

Funeral services will be held in Como United Methodist Church on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 2pm with Rev. Phillip Dearman officiating, and with Bobby Billingsley, Sledge Floyd, Sledge Taylor, Ken Kairit, Bobby Lipscomb, and Robert Carter serving as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Friendship Cemetery in Como. Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 6, 2017 in the Senatobia Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home from 5-7pm.

The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Como United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 277, Como, MS 38619 or to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
