Pamela Sue  Stephenson Hand
Pamela Sue Stephenson Hand, 57, of Senatobia, formerly of Pittsboro, MS, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 28, 2017, after a very brief illness with a GBM brain tumor. She went to Heaven, surrounded by her loving family and friends.

She was born August 3, 1959 in Tupelo, MS to James Bruce Stephenson and Annie Margaret Mabry Stephenson. She graduated high school in Columbus, Georgia. As a young girl, Pam had a dream to become a CRNA. While working as a nurse aide in the Emergency Room at North MS Medical Center, and attending EMT school, she met her husband, Thomas. She continued her education to become a Paramedic and later attended Itawamba Community College, where she received her associate RN degree.

While working as a RN at Oxford-Lafayette Medical Center and raising a family with Thomas who was also an RN, she continued her education and graduated with highest honors from Mississippi University for Women with a BSN degree. Pam received her MSN in 1998 from the University of Alabama and became licensed as a CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist), fulfilling her childhood dream. Pam worked as a CRNA for the past 18 years, with 15 years for Mid-South Anesthesia Consultants at Baptist Hospital- Desoto.

Her dedication and love for her family and profession, as well as her determination to accomplish her childhood dream, inspired both of her daughters to also become nurses.

She was a faithful follower of Christ and lived her life and raised her family based on her Christian beliefs. She loved her church and was a faithful member of Lifepoint Church in Senatobia where she regularly participated in women’s ministry outreach. She enjoyed crafts, loved to travel and shop and visited most states and several countries during her travels.

She is survived by her loving family which includes her husband of 35 years, Thomas Hand of Senatobia , MS, two sons, David Brian Stanford , Master Sergeant USAF (Leslie) of San Antonio , Texas and Jason Mark Hand, USAF Panama City, Florida; two daughters, Jessica Marie Hand Mann (Bobby Ryan) of Senatobia, MS and Julianne Margaret Hand of Senatobia, MS and four grandchildren, Jaylen Cole and Ashley Raegan Stanford of San Antonio, TX ;Thomas Ethan and Mabry Ryan Mann of Senatobia, MS. She is also survived by a very close and dear lifelong friend, Cindy Bourassa of Pittsboro, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Bruce Stephenson and Annie Margaret Mabry Stephenson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 30, 2017 in the chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home in Senatobia. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Bethesda Cemetery in Senatobia.
