Mrs. Dora O. Carpenter, 82, of Oakland, MS, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2017, at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford, MS.

Mrs. Carpenter, a retired secretary, was born on May 9, 1935 in California to The Late Armida Rubio Quintana and Fred Quintana. A loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother, she enjoyed reading, watching old movies and she especially loved her animals, Chloe and Tobie. She was a faithful and devoted mother above all else and loved everyone that she met.

Mrs. Carpenter leaves behind her loving family, which includes her husband of 62 years, Robert Carpenter; three daughters, Kathy Simmons (Phil), Annette Myers, and Anita Weatherford; three sons, Eddie Carpenter (Frieda), Doyle Carpenter (Fran), and Gary Carpenter (Nina Davis); one sister, Norma Renshaw (Bill); her cousin, David Dolea; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her son, Troy Carpenter; her brother, Edwin Wing; and her parents.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Dickins Funeral Home on Friday, May 26, 2017 at 3pm, with Rev. Phillip Dearman officiating.
