Mr. Michael Lee (Mumps) Hawkins, 63, of Courtland, MS, passed away on Thursday, June 8, 2017, at University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS.

Mr. Hawkins was born on May 20, 1954 to The Late Katherine Shankle Hawkins and James Theodore Hawkins. He was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. His love of sports was evident to anyone who knew him by his following of Mississippi State University athletics and the Minnesota Twins.

Mr. Hawkins leaves behind his loving family including his wife of 39 years, Brenda Hawkins of Courtland; two sons, David Lee Hawkins (Emily) of Plymouth, MA and Michael Joseph Hawkins (Whitney) of Oakland, MS; five sisters, Lanita Sullivan of Courtland, MS, Elaine White of Cleveland, MS, Betty Jo Tubbs of Courtland, MS, Kathy Fourtner of Marks, MS and Sylvia Brown of Pope, MS; two brothers, Bob Hawkins of Arkansas and Dale (Ham) Hawkins of Courtland, MS; and six grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 12, 2017, at 2pm in Shiloh United Methodist Church with Rev. Rex Wilburn, Rev. Chris Cooksy and Rev. Morgan Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the church on Monday from 10am - 12pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shiloh United Methodist Church Youth Fund, c/o Brenda Hawkins, 75 Shankle Dr., Courtland, MS 38620.
