Obituary for Cecil W. Watson

Cecil W.  Watson
Mr. Cecil W. Watson, 91, of Senatobia, MS, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017, at North Oak Regional Medical Center in Senatobia.

Mr. Watson was born on October 9, 1926 in Quitman County, MS to The Late Ethel Bagwell Watson and Silas Winston Watson. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army during World War II. He retired as the owner of Watson's Furniture Store in Cleveland, MS where he and his family lived for many years prior to his retirement. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Cleveland, MS and attended First United Methodist Church in Senatobia and the Senatobia Church of Christ. He was a 32nd degree mason and is remembered by his family as, "A good man who cared about everyone he met and never met a stranger."

Mr. Watson is survived by his loving family which includes his son, Winston Lee Watson of Senatobia and his grandson, Brody James Watson of Oxford, MS. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Jeanette Moore Watson.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 29, 2017, in the Senatobia Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home from 11am - 1pm. Graveside services will follow at 2pm in Bethesda Cemetery in Senatobia with military honors.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675-8517 or to a charity of the donor's choice.

Ray-Nowell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
