Obituary for Bobby Ray Johnson Sr.

Bobby Ray Johnson Sr.
Bobby Ray Johnson, Sr., 75, of Senatobia MS passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - Memphis. He was born on January 13, 1943 in Arkansas, to Ethel Mattie McAllister and John William Johnson.

He loved his church and was an active member of Senatobia First United Pentecostal Church. Bobby was a kind and gentle man, an old soul with a peaceful disposition. He was a hard worker, with relentless work ethics that never took time off, always reliable and ready to give a helping hand. Everyone who worked with him respected him and appreciated that he never talked bad about anyone nor did he stick around to hear anyone talk bad about others. Bobby worked at Kroger as a diesel mechanic from 1973 until 1998 and then at Williams Sonoma from 1999 until 2013. His closest coworkers would tell you everyone who met Bob loved him. He had a great sense of humor and loved to banter with his friends and family. Bobby deeply loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, often selflessly going out of his way to make sure they were safe and cared for. His only fault in life was an addiction to hotdogs. He was a wonderful husband and father, a loving grandfather and a great friend. He will be dearly missed.

Bobby is survived by his loving family, which includes his wife of 25 years, Patricia Walter Johnson of Senatobia, MS; one daughter, Wendy Elaine Campbell (Mike) of Millington, TN; two sons, Bobby Ray Johnson, Jr. of Seattle, WA and Dannie Ray Hood (Lori) of Denver, CO; one sister, Betty King of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Billy Johnson and Jack Johnson, both of Southaven, MS ; five grandchildren, Jimmy Campbell, Natalie Hood, Adrian Hood, Barrett Hood, and Colter Hood; and three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Brentley and Brenley. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at First United Pentecostal Church in Senatobia. Visitation will be from 10-12 a.m. Interment will be in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery. Ray-Nowell Funeral Home – Senatobia Chapel has charge of arrangements.
