Obituary for George Louis Holley

George Louis  Holley
Mr. George Louis Holley, 83, of Senatobia, MS, passed away on Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Memphis, TN.

Mr. Holley was born on September 9, 1934 in Batesville, MS to The Late Earline McLendon Holley and George Levi Holley. A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Mr. Holley was a very strong Christian who was faithful to his beliefs. He was an artist, a potter, and a writer who was a member and avid supporter of Sycamore Arts in Senatobia. He is remembered by his family as a loving and compassionate person with a tender heart, especially toward children which was evident by his adoption of three small children into his family. He was a pleasant and talented man who enjoyed life and took pleasure in teaching his sons and grandchildren how to fly fish.

Mr. Holley leaves behind his loving family which includes his wife, Nancy L. Holley of Senatobia, MS; two daughters, Donna Crosswhite (David) of Batesville, MS and Rhonda Gibson (Steve) of Coldwater, MS; four sons, Ronnie Holley of Batesville, MS, Rodney Holley (Theresa) of Oxford, MS, Tommy Holley of Southaven, MS, and Scott Holley (Katharine) of Watertown, WI; one step-daughter, Sharon Lynn Bennett (Donnie) of Senatobia, MS; one sister, Nancy Parker (Steve) and one brother, Buster Holley, both of Nettleton, MS; fifteen grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 17, 2018, at 11am in the Senatobia Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home with Glen Burns and Ted Welch officiating. Interment will follow in Senatobia Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Tuesday from 10am until service time at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints - Boy Scout Camp Fund.
