Obituary for Minnie Lee Light

Minnie Lee  Light
Mrs. Minnie Lee Light, 87, of Charleston, MS, passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018, at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston.

Mrs. Light was born on August 17, 1930 in Potts Camp, MS to The Late Bessie Rhyne Betts and General Lee Betts. She was a member of Peach Creek Baptist Church near Sardis, MS. She loved her family dearly, second only to her Lord and Savior. She was a model Christian example for her family teaching them how to live and love everyone. She is remembered by her children as the greatest Mom in the world, and she will be deeply missed.

Mrs. Light leaves behind her loving family which includes her daughter, Brenda Burt (S.M.) of Charleston, MS; four sons, Larry Monroe Light of Charleston, MS, John David Light of Judsonia, AR, Joseph Daniel Light (Melissa) of Big Sandy, TX, and Tommy Michael Light of Dundee, MS; seventeen grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, John Monroe Light; three sons, Jerry Lynn Light, Paul Alexander Light, and Calvin Dale LIght; her parents; and three brothers, Lester Betts, L.D. Betts, and Freddie Betts.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018, at 2pm in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Peach Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the funeral home Friday, July 6, 2018, from 12pm until service time at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peach Creek Cemetery Fund.
