Obituary for Virginia Dorrah Metts (Waldrip)

Mrs. Virginia Dorrah Waldrip Metts, 86, of Como, MS passed away on Thursday, September 13, 2018, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Southaven, MS.

Mrs. Metts was born on October 27, 1931 in Lafayette County, MS to The Late Maye Russell Waldrip and Clinton Waldrip. She was a member of Laodicea Primitive Baptist Church in Lafayette Springs, MS. Mrs. Metts loved flowers and enjoyed traveling with her husband. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Mrs. Metts leaves behind her loving family which includes her husband of 70 years, Albert Metts of Como, MS; two daughters, Rosemary Springfield (Lynn) of Little Rock, AR and Cindy Key of Horn Lake, MS; three sons, Danny Metts (Mary) of Lafayette Springs, MS, Mark Metts (Sissy) of Byhalia, MS, and Andy Metts of Olive Branch, MS; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at 2pm in Laodicea Primitive Baptist Church in Lafayette Springs with Bro. Calvin Ward officiating. Interment will follow in Lafayette Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the Senatobia Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home on Saturday, September 15, 2018, from 2pm - 4pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
