Elizabeth Christine Azlin Kennedy, 82, of Batesville, MS, passed away June 2, 2014 at Baptist Memorial Hospital – North MS in Oxford, MS.

She was a member of North Winona Baptist Church, enjoyed loving on her grandbabies, and telling Vernon what to do. She also enjoyed crocheting, reading, and swinging in the swing.

Mrs. Kennedy is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, James Verlon Kennedy of Batesville, MS; three daughters, Patricia Ann Watson (Bobby) of Batesville, MS, Peggy Joyce Weed (William) of Saltillo, MS and Karen Marie Acevedo (Amos) of Morrow Bay, CA; two sons, Donald Glen Kennedy (Hiromi) of Georgia and Jimmy Dale Kennedy of Batesville, MS; five sisters, Clara Douglas, Sadie Walls, Sue Hickman, Hazel Barnes, Fay Azlin and Betty Barnes; twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, The Late Dorothy Christina Kennedy; one son, The Late James Edward Kennedy; four brothers; and her parents, The Late Luther Azlin and Willie Lou King Azlin. Dickins Funeral Home of Batesville has charge of arrangements.
