Obituary for Emmett Bernard "Red" Anthony

Emmett Bernard "Red" Anthony
Emmett Bernard “Red” Anthony 85, passed from this life, May 12, 2015

The son of Ruth and Emmett V. Anthony, he was born November 18, 1929 in Pope, MS. Emmett was of Methodist faith and served our country in the United States Army during the Korean War. After returning from the war, he became a heavy equipment operator working in the pipeline construction business. Hardworking, honest, dependable, kind, generous; these are just a few words that family and friends say describe “Red”. He enjoyed life to the fullest pulling his travel trailer all over the country. It was said that he never met a stranger. He loved the outdoors, walking, fish fry’s, cooking and NASCAR. Most of all, he enjoyed

talking and telling stories to family and friends. He will be greatly missed by everyone that shared his life. Mr. Anthony is survived by three sons, Terry Anthony (Connie) of Little Rock, AR, Randy Anthony (Gerelyn) of Deville, LA, Ronnie Anthony (Vanessa) of Little Rock, AR; six grandchildren, Kristan Anthony, Kelli Anthony, Alisha Anthony, Aaron Mears (Lindsey), Ryan Anthony (Emily Ambrose) and Stuart Laid (Jade); three great-grandchildren, Zane, Addison and Delilah; one sister, Nell Baker of Batesville, MS; and his travel companion and special friend, Carole Moots and a host of relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Scoggins Anthony and his parents. We will never forget his kind sweet soul. Dickins Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
