Obituary for Shelia O'Daniel (Williams)

Sheila Williams O'Daniel, 62, of Senatobia Mississippi passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven Mississippi.

She was a member of Arkabutla Baptist Church. A talented musician and an accomplished keyboard artist and vocalist, she was well known locally and on the Memphis music scene. She was a devoted animal activist and worked for the prevention of cruelty to all animals. Sheila had a passionate desire to help others which led her to pursue a career in the medical field. She was an EMT and worked for Life Lift, (fixed wing air ambulance service) and authored the protocol for the transport of patients on the fixed wing. She was a safety director for the American Red Cross in Oxford, Mississippi and was a former EMT security officer at Fitzgerald and Horseshoe casinos. She held the rank of fire and safety lieutenant at Marshall County Corrections Center in Holly Springs, MS. She was the first CPR/First Aid instructor to certify CPR and First Aid to inmates in the state of MS.

Sheila is survived by her best friend and confidant, Diane Lavelle, from Senatobia, MS, one daughter, Myra "Missy" Sansom (Mark), from Coldwater, MS; one sister, Sharon Turnmire (Ronnie), from Southaven, MS; three grandchildren, Jeri Demo, Gunnar Sansom, and Noah Sansom and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry Walter O'Daniel and her parents, Morris Milton Williams and Marguerite Inez Billingsley.
