Mr. James Andrew Paris, 100, of Oakland, MS, passed away on Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Merit Health in Batesville, MS.

Mr. Paris was born on August 28, 1916 in Mt. Pleasant, Texas to The Late Aubrey Wright Paris and Roy Paris. He proudly served his country as a veteran of both the United States Army and the United States Air Force. Following his retirement from the Air Force, he was the owner and operator of Paris Auto Parts in Oakland, MS for many years before his retirement.

He leaves behind his loving his family including his son, James "Ping Pong" Paris (Kelly) of Oakland, MS; four grandchildren, James Patton Paris (Kristen), Jessica Paris Taylor, Crystal Paris Clark (Jeffrey), and Sara Grace Paris; and three great-grandchildren, Peyton Clark, Madisyn Taylor, and Charles Andrew Paris. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Thelma Paris, as well as his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at 10am in the chapel of Dickins Funeral Home with Rev. James Edwards officiating. Burial will follow, with military honors, in Oakland Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 6-8pm in the funeral home.
