Obituary for Wayne Anderson Putman

Wayne Anderson  Putman
Mr. Wayne Anderson Putman, 71, of Oxford, MS passed away on Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Baptist Memorial Hospital - North Mississippi in Oxford.

Mr. Putman was born on August 2, 1945 in Memphis, TN to The Late Annabell Taylor Putman and W.A. Putman. A retired painter, he was a member of Shady Grove Baptist Church. He served in the Mississippi Army National Guard and was a Mason. A devout Christian and family man, he was a friend to everyone who knew him and he loved spending time with his family.

He leaves behind his loving family, including his wife of 51 years, Fay Putman; his daughter, Dawn Cook (Chuck), both of Oxford, MS; his son, Steve Putman of Weatherford, TX; his sister, Margaret Mason (Ralph) of Batesville, MS; his brothers, Greg Putman (Carol), J.J. Putman (Patricia), both of Batesville, MS; and Dub Putman of Pope, MS; five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Rilla Aldy and Billie Holloway; and one brother, Johnny Putman.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 1, 2017, at 2pm in Shady Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Tim McMillan and Bro. Charles Locke officiating. Interment will follow in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 30, 2017, from 6-8pm in Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shady Grove Cemetery Fund.
