Mr. James Edward Sapp, 81, of Sardis, MS, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, at his home.

Mr. Sapp, a retired farmer and logger, was born on January 21, 1936 to The Late Ruthie Garrett Sapp and John William Sapp. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Mr. Sapp leaves behind his loving family including his wife, Linda Sapp of Sardis, MS; two daughters, Debbie James (Timothy) of Buffalo, MO and Hallie Robertson of Sardis; six sons, Charles Sapp of Coffeeville, MS, Curtis Sapp (Marsha) of Holcomb, MS, Earl Sapp (Emily) of Sardis, Thomas Sapp and Jerry Sapp (Ana), both of Memphis, TN, and Joe Sapp (Amanda) of Oxford, MS; two sisters, Louise Busby and Mildred Stevens; fourteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Friday, July 7, 2017 at Dickins Funeral Home in Batesville. Interment will be at 3p.m. at New Fairview Cemetery in Linn, MS (Sunflower County). Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Friday from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., preceding the funeral services.
