Mrs. Carolyn Kay Johnson McDaniel, 76, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018, at her home near Batesville, MS.

Mrs. McDaniel was born on July 9, 1942 in Water Valley, MS to The Late Lois Ann Palmertree Johnson and James Clinton Johnson. Mrs. McDaniel was a Registered Nurse who was chemotherapy certified and was certified in diabetic foot care. She retired from Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS. As a nurse, Mrs. McDaniel served many roles, but she was most proud of starting the first heart team in Oxford. She was a member of the Sardis Church of Christ.

Mrs. McDaniel is survived by her daughter, Lisa McDaniel Mills (Lewis); her sister, Jamie Brewer (Paul), both of Batesville, MS; her brother, Hal Johnson (Sue) of Sardis, MS; and nine grand-dogs. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 47 years, Albert McDaniel.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, October 14, 2018, at 2pm in the Sardis Church of Christ with Bro. Hal Johnson officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Alzheimer's Foundation or to the Panola County Humane Society.
