Mr. Edward Dale McDowell, 69, passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019, at his home in Courtland, MS.

Dale was born on February 5, 1950 in Batesville, MS to The Late Birdie Mae Winter McDowell and Edward Brooks McDowell. He traveled and lived in various countries with his parents during his early years. Mr. McDowell was a lifelong member of Shiloh United Methodist Church. He was a family man who loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He was an avid motorcyclist and was a founding member of the Back Porch Motorcycle Bunch. He developed lifelong friendships with his motorcycle buddies and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mr. McDowell leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving family which includes his wife, Teresa Mayhan McDowell of Courtland, MS; his daughter, Kelly McDowell of Batesville, MS; his sons, Kevin McDowell (Kimberly) of Batesville, MS, Josh McDowell of Jonesboro, AR, David Barefoot (Cynthia) of Charleston, MS, Jim Barefoot of Courtland, MS, Danny Jay Eastin (Amy) and William Jason Longmire (Sandy), both of Huntingdon, TN; his sister, Dianne McDowell Brewer of Courtland, MS; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Lynn Jobe McDowell and his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 7, 2019, at 2pm in Shiloh United Methodist Church in Courtland with Rev. Morgan Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be held in the church on Thursday from 12pm until service time at 2pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to LeBonheur Children's Medical Center or to Shiloh United Methodist Church.
