Obituary for Clayton Paul Goodwin

Mr. Clayton Paul Goodwin, 86, of Como, MS passed away on Saturday, September 7, 2019, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford, MS.

Mr. Goodwin was born on June 14, 1933 in Oxford, MS to The Late Ethel Mae Lewallen Goodwin and Clayton Eugene Goodwin. He was a hard worker all of his life who retired from Sardis Luggage, Roper Luggage and MIssissippi Materials. He is fondly remembered for his love of and collection of caps of which he had many. He proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Goodwin was a member of Como United Methodist Church.

He leaves behind his loving wife of 61 years, Willie Jo Goodwin of Como, MS; one sister, Eloise Bradley of Crenshaw, MS; several nieces and nephews; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Stephen Paul Goodwin and his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 9, 2019, at 2 pm in the Sardis Chapel of Ray-Nowell Funeral Home with Rev. Milton Whatley officiating. Interment will follow in McGehee's Chapel Cemetery near Como. Visitation will be held in the funeral home on Monday from 12 pm - 2 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to McGehee's Chapel Cemetery Fund, 7661 Parks Place Road, Como, MS 38619.
