Ross Loftin Leach, 61, passed away in the morning of January 15, 2016 at Baptist Hospital – DeSoto. He was born on March 30, 1954 to James Ross and Mae Carol Leach in Meridian, MS. He graduated from Meridian High School in 1972. In 1976, he graduated sigma cum laude from Mississippi State University in Horticulture. Ross had a life long faith in his Lord Jesus Christ and sought to live and work in His honor. He chose to work with adults with mental and physical disabilities – first at Bryce Mental Hospital and then at the Baddour Memorial Center – as a Horticulture Therapist and then as Vocational Director.

Ross married the love of his life Ceci Carroll in October, 1980. They shared many passions, especially nature and travel. Ceci introduced Ross to the Tetons and Yellowstone, which they visited on many occasions. Together, they raised two daughters and have had the wonderful blessing of two grandsons.

Ross is survived by his wife Ceci of 35 years; two daughters Sarah Leach of Senatobia and Kate Cain (Phillip) of Jonesboro, AR; two grandsons John Leach of Senatobia and Charlie Ross Cain of Jonesboro, AR; his mother, Mae Carol Leach of Meridian, MS and his sister Linda Tingle (Ross) of Meridian, MS. He is also survived by his special nephews Chris Tingle (Monica) of Hernando, MS and Alan Tingle of Meridian, MS and his great nephew Jack and great niece Anna Caroline.

Preceding Ross in death was his father James Ross Leach.

A memorial service celebrating his life will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016 at Rose Hill Cemetery Sardis, MS at 1:00 with a joyful gathering afterward at his mother-in-law and father-in-law’s home (RD and Betty Carroll) in Sardis, MS.

Ross’ favorite charities included the American Juvenile Diabetes Association and ASPCA.
