Aunt Kris

I have so many memories with Kris.  She used to take care of me some summers, when I was small, drive me to school, pick me up when I got sick, and what I loved the most was coming into her house, before school and smelling her tomato gravy or chocolate gravy. After school she cooked spaghetti and I can still remember that yummy smell, 28 years later.

Once, she gave me and Brittany a cookie, one of those that you would wear around your finger because it was a flower butter cookie, and she had just vaccuumed the living room and said, "dont you dare drop any crumbs on this carpet!"  I remember with every bite I took in, I sucked to make sure I didnt allow any crumb to drop. I ended up choking myself doing that :) She always had a box of whoppers by her recliner and i used to sneak one as a child too.

One time, as my parents had picked me up, driving out, Brittany was eating a piece of candy, I believe it was a spree or a sweet tart. Well, she choked on it, and Kris panicked, picked her up and shook her by her feet, upside down and that darn piece of candy came right out!

Also, Kris loved to tan and sit by the pool. The darker, the better. I have great memories of playing with Brittany in the pool they had in Coldwater, and we would skeet with our teeth at each other.

Another fond memory, once, when I was older, around 14 years old, I babysat for Kris and Johnny so they could go out.  I believe I was watching Brittany and Michael. I am not sure if Misty was there, I cannot remember. However, we saw them pulling up to the house (that was in Senatobia), and I decided to play a trick on them.  The kids were all on board. They hid, and I dimmed the lights, I made a loud barking noise that seriously sounds like a real dog, and I heard Johnny and Kris saying, what in the H*ll have these kids done, they've done gotten a da*n dog in the house, Im gonna kill'em!  It was the best joke ever. We laughed so hard.

I will never forget her love of sweet tea, panchos taco salad, no olives. She made the best pecan pie ever.

I will never forget her sitting in her recliner, hair in rollers, make up bag and lighting her eyeliner so it would stay all day too.

She would give anything to take care of family. Family meant everything to her.  She loved like no other I have seen and boy if you made her mad, she had the force of a hurricane. That is a real individual right there.

I will never forget how she made me laugh so much and how she made me smile, every time I saw her.  I hope now she is able to be at rest, basking in the glory of the Lord. What an amazing experience she must be having. Though we hurt for her loss, I rejoice for her presence with our mighty Lord.  May you rest in peace Kris. I love you,

Leslie
